Welcome To OVO New Music!

Call for Scores: OVO New Music invites composers to submit works for a concert taking place on the East Coast of the United States in late May 2026. Selected pieces will receive their world premiere. All musical styles are welcome, and there is no application fee. Detailed submission guidelines are provided below.

Call for Scores: OVO New Music for Pipe Organ and Piano

The concert will take place on the U.S. East Coast during the last week of May 2026. The specific venue will be confirmed by February 12, 2026. Selected works will receive world premiere performances.

Instrumentation:

 

Submissions should be written for any of the combinations:

  • Pipe organ & piano

  • Solo pipe organ

  • Solo piano

  • Pipe organ, piano & electronics

  • Pipe organ & electronics

  • Piano & electronics

  • Other mixed-media (multi-media) configurations involving pipe organ and/or piano

 

Works may be fully acoustic, electronic, or hybrid. The integration of live electronics, fixed media (including electronics, video, or other pre-rendered multimedia elements), or other multimedia elements is welcome but not required, provided all technical requirements are clearly specified and feasible in a live concert setting.

Note: While all formats are welcome, works featuring collaboration between pipe organ and piano will be given priority.

Style:

 

Composers of all aesthetic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. There are no restrictions on musical style.

Duration:

 

Submitted works should not exceed 8 minutes.

Composer Attendance & Fees:

 

  • Purely acoustic or fixed-media works: composer attendance is not required.

  • Works with live electronics or real-time interaction: composer attendance is required.

  • There is no application fee.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Scores should be submitted as PDF files.

  • Composers are encouraged to also submit a recording (MIDI recordings are acceptable) if available.

  • Include a short biography (50–100 words) with your submission.

  • If electronic or multimedia elements are included, clearly specify all technical requirements (software, hardware, audio channels, projection, setup time, etc.) to ensure feasibility in a live concert setting.

  • Submission Deadline: February 5, 2026 (12:00 PM EST)

  • Note: Submissions must be original works that have not been publicly performed. This concert will provide a world premiere.

Timeline:

  • Submission Deadline: February 5, 2026 (12:00 PM EST)

  • Selection Announcement: February 12, 2026 (6–8 works will be selected)

  • Selected Composer Discussion Period: February 13–19, 2026

  • Performance: The last week of May 2026 (U.S. East Coast)

Media Consent:

​By submitting, composers grant the organizers permission to perform and use excerpts of their work for promotional purposes.

Recording & Video Distribution:

 

Within one month after the concert, all participating composers will receive high-quality audio and video recordings of their works as performed at the concert.
